Our aim
Casual Gamer is a website aimed at delivering game reviews, news, previews and points of view to the wider community of people who play games, the casual gamers.
“Is this game fun to play?”
Most sites today are targeted at a very specific demographic: 18 to 25 year old men. We like to think we cater for everyone, but especially the people who aren’t interested in how many frames per second their video card can deliver and who frankly couldn’t care less. We won’t bore you with details about anti-aliasing and which physics engine was used in the game, but we will certainly tell you if the graphics were bad or your player could walk through walls when he shouldn’t have been able to. We will talk about games as being fun to play or not, their technical brilliance aside. Most importantly, we’ll deliver that message in simple to understand terms, you won’t need a degree in Computer Science to understand what we’re saying.
We’re also going to pay a bit more attention to younger children’s games because that is a wildly growing market and one that doesn’t get much coverage in print or online. Our hope is to help give parents of younger children some idea of what their little ones can play safely.
