So it’s the end of the year, and the busy Christmas season begins in earnest with a raft of new video games. We’re really looking forward to the new Nintendo 3D titles, Mario Kart 7 and Super Mario 3D Land because to be honest, the whole platform has been a bit of a disappointment when it comes to the titles released so far. The Nintendo 3DS is AMAZING to look at, but really, the games have been average – what were Nintendo thinking releasing it without any flagship titles?
That said, this quarter is ALL ABOUT Battlefield 3 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. These games are going to sell in ridiculous volumes and some of the “Limited Edition” packaging we’ve seen is just outrageous. Battlefield 3 really needs to step up and deliver because it has not been as front of mind as the Call of Duty franchise over the past couple years, so going head-to-head is a big challenge.
The sleeper in this bunch will be Batman: Arkham City – the first title in Batman: Arkham Asylum completely redefined the whole open world hand-to-hand combat platform and this one should be better!
