Middle-earth Beckons in The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria
Fans of J.R.R. Tolkien’s legendary fantasy world can embark on a new gorgeous looking adventure in Middle-earth with the release of The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria.
This new survival crafting game developed by Free Range Games and published by North Beach Games transports players to the Fourth Age of Middle-earth.
Assume the Role of Dwarven Survivors
In Return to Moria, players take on the role of Dwarves seeking to reclaim the once-majestic underground kingdom of Khazad-dûm, known as Dwarrowdelf. This stronghold was lost after the Dwarves awakened the Balrog known as Durin’s Bane, forcing the survivors to abandon Moria.
The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria “is a love letter to Professor Tolkien’s Dwarves, made by a development team of hardcore fans. We’ve stuffed it with as much lore, exploration, danger and joy as we could fit,” said Jon-Paul Dumont, Game Director, Free Range Games. “But this isn’t the end! With the support of our incredible community, this is just the start of our adventures in Khazad-dûm.”
Now, players must guide a new generation of Dwarves to return and rebuild their homeland. From exploring cavernous mines to battling Orcs in visceral combat, players will need to master survival skills like crafting, resource management, and more to restore Moria to its former glory.
Immersive Middle-earth Survival Experience
Return to Moria offers a rich and comprehensive Middle-earth survival experience. Players can fully customize their Dwarven avatar and embark on procedurally generated adventures under the Misty Mountains.
Dynamic light, simulated acoustic systems, and a stirring soundtrack by Chance Thomas create an incredibly immersive experience. Players must hunt and forage, mine for precious metals, craft weapons and structures, and cooperate or compete with others online.
At its core, Return to Moria captures the spirit of Tolkien’s world. Dwarven songs and tales connect players to Middle-earth lore. The vocal talents of John Rhys-Davies as Lord Gimli Lockbearer provide wise guidance. And the ever-present threat of Orcs and other fell beasts keep players on guard.
Return to Moria Now Available on PC
The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria is now available for Windows PC through the Epic Games Store. The standard edition retails for $39.99. North Beach Games also plans to release the game on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles at a later date.
