Epic Games has unleashed a new trailer showing off more from the current Fortnite x Metal Gear Solid mashup event. Along with a closer look at Solid Snake’s stealth combat skills, the cinematic teaser concludes with the long-rumored addition of Raiden to Fortnite’s expansive roster of characters.
Raiden Brings His Iconic Blade and Scuba Skills
The adrenaline-fueled trailer opens with Snake expertly maneuvering through tropical environments from his home franchise using familiar CQC techniques. But the super spy soon encounters a worthy adversary in Raiden, the cybernetic protagonist of Metal Gear Solid 2.
Recognizable by his distinctive combat mask and visor, Raiden sprints into frame brandishing his deadly high-frequency blade. After an electrifying standoff, the trailer smash cuts to Raiden fluidly eliminating enemies across various Fortnite locations.
Showing off his superhuman talents, Raiden hacks away at opponents using his proficient sword skills and even his scuba gear in one brief clip. Other rapid-fire scenes showcase the agile ninja stealthily taking down foes with help from Fortnite versions of Metal Gear staples like cardboard boxes.

Along with debuting Raiden and his fondness for scuba combat, eagle-eyed fans likely noticed several other Metal Gear Easter eggs throughout the trailer.
As previously teased, Solid Snake’s appearance focuses heavily on his nostalgic Olive Drab outfit from the early PlayStation era. Back bling accessories also include deep-cut references like Metal Gear Mk. II and stealth camouflage.
