Eastasiasoft recently hosted their annual New Year Showcase, giving us a sneak peek at over a dozen hotly anticipated titles coming soon to consoles and PC. From long-awaited sequels to promising indie gems, there’s something for every type of gamer to get excited about.
Hakuoki Fans Rejoice as the Popular Series Returns
Leading the pack of new releases is Hakuoki: Chronicles of Wind and Blossom from localizer Ideal Factory. The otome visual novel promises to continue the dramatic saga first introduced on the PSP, this time bringing the tale of the Shinsengumi samurai to Switch and PC. The game is slated for Q1 2024.
Xuan Yuan Sword 7 Marches Westward
Also making its western debut in early 2024 is Xuan Yuan Sword 7 from Eastasiasoft. The seventh entry in the classic Chinese RPG series once again blends real-time combat and captivating mythology, now with enhanced graphics and gameplay for PS4. Eager fans can wield ancient magic this February.
Brawl Your Way Through a Fallen City
For something a bit grittier, Merge Games touts the early-year release of Fallen City Brawl, a rogue-lite beat ‘em up headed to PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Series X/S. The game challenges you to fight, scavenge and unlock new heroes across a sprawling urban wasteland. Expect intense local and online multiplayer this March.
Learn About Coffee Brewing and Love in Sunny Cafe
Sunny Café is a single-player love text adventure game focused on chance encounters and fleeting relationships, using coffee and Taiwanese culture as a narrative backdrop. Players will get to know a cast of college students while learning local customs and coffee brewing techniques.
Sunny Café features branching storylines with multiple endings, including the possibility for romance. This visual novel with dating sim elements is set for release in March.
