On November 10, 2023, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III will introduce a completely new Zombies gameplay mode.
Developed in partnership between Treyarch Studios and Sledgehammer Games, MWIII’s Zombies mode moves away from the traditional round-based formula seen in Black Ops. Instead, it focuses on open-world survival with up to 24 players teaming up in squads.

Players must work cooperatively, using gameplay elements from modes like DMZ and Outbreak, to survive against waves of zombies and living enemies. The map includes features like Zones showing difficulty levels, exfiltration countdowns, Pack-a-Punch machines, and mystery boxes.
Uncover Dark Secrets And Battle The Hordes
For the first time, Zombies will introduce an overarching story and lore into Modern Warfare. A cinematic trailer showcases Operators teaming up with Task Force 141 to combat zombies powered by a dangerous new substance called Aetherium.
This merges the Black Ops Zombies fictional universe with the Modern Warfare world. Classic Easter egg quests and more story details will be added post-launch. The stakes have never been higher as players take on both the undead and threatening living foes.
